Jared Messinger

Deputy Director, Restoration

Jared Messinger is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in ecosystem restoration and project management, currently serving as Deputy Director for Restoration at the World Resources Institute since May 2014. In this role, Jared leads the Global Restoration Initiative's Project Management Office, overseeing a diverse cross-functional team across eight countries, while managing key business processes, team performance, and fundraising efforts that have secured over $35 million for the program. Earlier positions at WRI included Program Manager and Program Coordinator, where Jared contributed to program strategy and donor relations. Previous experience includes project assistance at Underwood & Associates and consultancy work for the Arbor Day Foundation. Jared holds a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Conservation from Virginia Tech.
