Dana Mortenson

Founder In Residence at World Savvy

Dana Mortenson is the co-founder and CEO of World Savvy, a national education nonprofit that focuses on educating and engaging youth in community and world affairs. Through various programs, World Savvy helps students develop global knowledge and skills for success in the 21st century. Dana Mortenson has also been recognized as a 2011 Ashoka Fellow, which is awarded to leading social entrepreneurs with innovative solutions to social problems. Additionally, Mortenson has served as a board member for On the Map Records and the Mortenson Center for Engineering in Developing Communities. Mortenson's work experience also includes being a board member for INFORUM at The Commonwealth Club of California, a consultant for the California International Studies Project, and a steering committee member for Youth Worker: Collective. Prior to their work in education and social entrepreneurship, Mortenson was a team leader in the Intellectual Property Group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Dana Mortenson received their Master's degree in International Affairs, specializing in Economic and Political Development, from Columbia | SIPA in 2002. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Connecticut College, earning a Bachelor's degree in International Relations between 1994 and 1997. Dana Mortenson attended Madison High School from 1989 to 1993.
