James Munro has extensive experience as a lawyer in various organizations. James started their career at the Attorney General's Department in 2010 and worked there until 2014. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at the World Trade Organization as a lawyer. James then joined the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2016 and served as an Assistant Director (Legal) until 2017. In 2017, they worked at the Federal Court of Australia as an Associate to the Hon Justice Middleton. Following this, they rejoined the World Trade Organization as a lawyer from 2018 to 2022. From 2022 to 2023, Munro worked as the Principal Legal Counsel / Director at the Anti-Dumping Commission (Australian Government). James'slatest position is as a lawyer at the World Trade Organization starting in 2023.
James Munro completed their Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Melbourne, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. James then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law, with a specialization in International Trade and Investment Law, at the same university from 2013 to 2016.
