Mateo Ferrero

Mateo Ferrero has a strong background in legal affairs and dispute settlement. Mateo started their career as an Associate Attorney at CAVALIER ABOGADOS in 2009. Mateo then joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2010, initially as an intern in the Legal Affairs Division, before becoming a Legal Officer in the same division. In 2011, Mateo Ferrero transitioned to the role of Dispute Settlement Lawyer in the Appellate Body Secretariat at the WTO.

Mateo Ferrero's education history includes a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International Economic Law and Policy, which they obtained from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2010. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the Universidad de Los Andes between 2003 and 2008. In 2013, they attended a summer school at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for Introductory Microeconomics. In 2008, they also participated in a summer academy at the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern, Switzerland, focusing on International Law and Legal Studies. Additionally, from 2006 to 2007, they earned a Certificat "Notions Fondamentales de Droit International, Européen et Comparé" from the University of Strasbourg, specializing in International Law and Legal Studies. Most recently, in 2016, they attended another summer school at LSE, this time studying International Financial Law.
