Marcelo Villegas

Marcelo Villegas, MBA, PMP, Cert. APM, SAFe Agilist, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Marcelo is currently employed at World Vision Canada as the Head of Enterprise Portfolio Management and Data Governance. Prior to this, they worked as a Portfolio Manager at the same organization. Marcelo also served as a Director at 2effective Solutions and EPAM Systems, where they held roles such as Agile Program Manager and Director of Project Management. Marcelo was also a Project Manager at Scotiabank and a National Director of Information Technology at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. Additionally, Marcelo has experience as the National Information Technology Director and Special Projects Assignments at the National Electoral Court and as the Director of Information Technology at Gnesios Informática. Marcelo began their career as the National Director of Information Technologies and Telecommunications at Impuestos Nacionales and Chief of the Commercial System Department at Lyonnaise Des Eaux - Bolivia. Marcelo's work experience reflects their expertise in project management, portfolio management, and information technology.

Marcelo Villegas holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering from Universidad del Valle (BO), which they obtained from 1989 to 1994. Marcelo further pursued their education and completed a Master's degree in Business Administration from Universidad Católica Boliviana from 2001 to 2002.

Throughout their career, Marcelo has also obtained several certifications. In 2000, they became an Oracle Certified Professional in Database Administration. In 2012, they became a Certified Agile Project Manager (Cert. APM) through The Project Management Association of Canada. Additionally, they have obtained several SAFe certifications, such as Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist in 2021, Certified SAFe® 5 Agile Product Manager and Certified SAFe® 6 Agile Product Manager in 2023, and Certified SAFe® 6 Lean Portfolio Manager in 2023.
