Jaap Giebels

Jaap Giebels has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Jaap started their career as a Thesis intern at EY in 2013, followed by positions as a Consultant and later as a Senior Consultant in Transaction Support at EY from 2014 to 2017.

In 2017, they joined Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) as a New Business Development Manager, where they were responsible for identifying and executing growth opportunities in Lighting and Smart Building solutions. Jaap stayed with Signify until 2020.

Since 2020, Jaap has been working as the General Manager for Nederland & België (Vlaanderen) at World Wide Lighting B.V., the parent company of Lampdirect, Budgetlight, and Discountlight. Jaap'srole involves overseeing the operations of the company, with a focus on serving customers and providing lighting solutions to installers.

Throughout their career, Jaap has gained experience in financial analysis, transaction support, and business development.

Jaap Giebels has a diverse education history. Jaap began their academic journey in 2002 at Jacob-Roelandlyceum, where they pursued a field of study in Science & Health. After completing their studies there in 2008, they went on to attend Tilburg University. At Tilburg University, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in International Business Administration, which they completed in 2012. In 2011, Jaap had the opportunity to study at Chulalongkorn University, where they focused on the field of Commerce and Accountancy for a year. Following that, they returned to Tilburg University to further their education. Jaap obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Accounting with a professional track (RA/RC) in 2014. Jaap's education journey continued with a Master Thesis in Accounting, also with a professional track, at Tilburg University from 2013 to 2014. Finally, in 2014, they pursued further qualifications in Corporate Finance at the CFA Institute, successfully passing Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst exam.
