Paul Jennekens began their work experience at Digital Equipment Corporation in 1990, where they held several marketing and sales positions, including the role of Marketing Manager for the Network Products Business Unit in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Paul then moved on to Hewlett-Packard, where they worked in various services marketing roles, including Marketing Manager for Services and Support in the Netherlands. Paul later became the Manager of Business Management for HP Technology Services. In 2006, Paul joined Worldline Financial Services as the Head of Marketing, where they managed a team of product managers and represented the company as a board member at the European Automated Clearing House Association.

Paul Jennekens completed a Postdoctoral programme in Electronic Commerce at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1999. Prior to that, they attended INSEAD in 1996 for a Management Acceleration Programme. Their educational journey began in 1984 when they obtained a Master's Degree in Economics and Business Administration from Maastricht University, which they completed in 1990.
