Daniel Canning

Daniel Canning is the Managing Director for North America at WorldRemit. Daniel has over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications and payments industries.

Canning started their career at Digicel Group, where they served as the CEO of Diaspora. In this role, they led the global cross-border mobile top up and payments business for Digicel. Daniel was also responsible for the brand relaunch of Digicel, which generated 130% month-over-month growth and a 5% increase in ARPU.

In October 2018, Canning joined WorldRemit as the Managing Director for North America. In this role, they were responsible for the commercial growth of the North American business. Daniel successfully launched an innovative “get into the remittance wallet” strategy to expand the category for WorldRemit.

In July 2019, Canning was promoted to Managing Director – Americas and Board Member of WorldRemit, Corp. In this role, they are responsible for the commercial growth of the North American, Latin American & Caribbean businesses. Daniel is also the site-leader for the 100-employee North American headquarters.

Daniel Canning received a B.S. in Hotel Administration from Cornell University and an MBA in International Business from the Darla Moore School of Business.
