Marsha Smothers Sphr

Marsha Smothers, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has over 25 years of experience in the field of Human Resources. Marsha is currently serving as the Vice President of Human Resources at WorldWide Logistics in Urbandale, IA since June 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Development at the same company from June 2021 to June 2022. Marsha has also worked as the Vice President of Human Resources at Berkley Technology Services, a subsidiary of a 500-person insurance company, where they oversaw all HR functions and served as an internal consultant to senior leadership. Marsha worked for this company from 2005 to 2021. Before that, Marsha was the Director of Human Resources at Marketlink Inc. from 1998 to 2005 and the Human Resources Supervisor at RR Donnelley from 1996 to 1998. Marsha started their HR career at Lozier Corporation, Erickson Displays Division as a Human Resources Generalist in 1995. Marsha has a strong background in strategic planning, talent acquisition, training and development, performance management, and HR compliance.

Marsha Smothers, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Operations Management from Iowa State University - Ivy College of Business. Marsha also has a pending Master of Arts (M.A.) in Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota. In terms of certifications, they obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in January 2019. Additionally, they achieved the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in April 2015.
