Peer Support Leader Northeast Florida at Wounded Warrior Project

Michael Iwaniusz has a diverse work experience in the veterans' community. Michael started their career as a Jr Vice Commander at Disabled American Veterans in 2013, where they provided assistance to veterans in filing and appealing for their benefits, as well as offering support during times of crisis. In 2017, they joined Team Rubicon as a Command and General Staff Operations member, specializing in RECON assignments after natural disasters. Michael also took part in the Clay Hunt Fellowship, utilizing their construction skills to train COHORT members. During this time, they actively pursued training in the ASSIST program to address mental health issues among veterans and first responders. Most recently, Michael has been working as a Peer Support Leader at the Wounded Warrior Project in Northeast Florida. In this role, they network with fellow veterans, conducts mentoring meetings, and organizes community events. Their focus is on providing support and resources for their mental and physical health, as well as assisting their spouses and family members.

Michael Iwaniusz is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University, with an expected completion date in 2024. Prior to this, they attended Syracuse University, where they studied Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General. However, the specific degree they obtained from Syracuse University is unknown.
