Ioannis Stamos

Ioannis Stamos is a distinguished expert in Computer Vision, currently serving as a consultant for automated mapping at Woven by Toyota since August 2022. Stamos has held professorships in Computer Science at both Hunter College and The Graduate Center, City University of New York, since September 2001, focusing on research in Computer Vision, Robotics, and Graphics. Previously, Stamos was the Lead Computer Vision Engineer at CARMERA, where expertise in computer vision algorithms contributed to urban reconstruction before the company was acquired by Woven Planet. Additional experience includes a role as a Visiting Scientist at Google and research positions at Columbia University and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Stamos earned a PhD, MPhil, and MS in Computer Science from Columbia University, following a Diploma of Engineering in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras.
