Luca del Pero

Luca Del Pero has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Luca began their career at GFI Informatique as a Software Engineer from April 2008 to August 2009. Luca then pursued a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Arizona, where they worked as a PhD candidate from August 2009 to July 2013. After completing their PhD, Luca joined the University of Edinburgh as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Vittorio Ferrari's CALVIN lab, focusing on weakly supervised learning from unstructured videos. Luca worked there from October 2013 to December 2015. Moving on, they joined Blippar and held multiple positions. First as a Computer Vision Research Engineer from January 2016 to July 2017, where they researched 3D pose estimation and large-scale recognition and classification. Then, they became the Lead Scientist from July 2017 to March 2018, and eventually the Head of Computer Vision from March 2018 to September 2018. Luca's next move was to Level 5, Lyft's self-driving division, where they worked as an Engineering Manager in the Visual Maps team in London from November 2018 until the present. Recently, they joined Woven Planet Holdings as a Senior Engineering Manager in July 2021.

Luca Del Pero completed their education in a chronological order, beginning with their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, which they obtained from 2002 to 2007. Luca then pursued further academic achievements by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from the University of Arizona, a journey spanning from 2009 to 2013.
