Mihai Florian

Mihai Florian has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Mihai is currently working at Woven by Toyota as a Staff Engineer. Prior to that, they held the position of Staff Software Engineer at Lyft, where they worked on Runtime Services for Lyft Level 5.

Before joining Lyft, Mihai worked at drive.ai as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on the Vehicle OS team. Mihai was involved in the development of tools and frameworks to enhance the safety, reliability, and performance of autonomous vehicle software.

Mihai also gained experience at Synopsys Inc, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer. Mihai'swork involved designing and implementing the analysis infrastructure for the Coverity static analysis tool, particularly for finding security vulnerabilities in web applications.

Mihai began their career at Coverity, where they worked on the static analysis tool for Java web applications. Mihai contributed to improving the tool's ability to detect security vulnerabilities and enhance virtual call resolution.

Additionally, Mihai had the opportunity to work as a Software Computing Systems Graduate Student at JPL (NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory). During their time there, they conducted research in advanced software development techniques and designed and implemented a new programming language with features supporting process-based concurrency and message passing.

Through their various roles, Mihai Florian has developed a strong skill set in software engineering, focusing on areas such as runtime services, static analysis, and the development of tools and frameworks to enhance software performance and reliability.

Mihai Florian pursued their education diligently, starting with a Bachelor of Engineering (D.Eng) in Computer Science from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest. Mihai attended this institution from 2002 to 2007, showing a strong commitment to learning and honing their skills in the field.

Mihai continued their academic journey at Caltech, where they embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from 2007 to 2014. This experience provided him with in-depth knowledge and expertise in the subject.
