Samantha Kong

Samantha Kong has over 17 years of work experience in various roles. Samantha started their career as a Reporter at Ming Pao Newspaper, covering Hong Kong news. Samantha then transitioned to working in the banking sector as a Manager of KYC and Compliance at HSBC Commercial Banking. In 2011, Samantha joined Symantec, where they held roles as a Business Development Manager and later as a Channel Account Manager, specializing in cybersecurity solutions. Samantha achieved impressive sales quotas and built strong relationships with partners. Samantha then moved on to DigiCert, Inc., where they served as a Sales Manager for APAC, focusing on cybersecurity solutions and maintaining customer accounts. In 2019, they joined Informatica as a Territory Manager, responsible for business in ANZ.

Samantha's expertise in privacy and data protection led their to OneTrust, where they worked as a Principal Alliance Partner Manager for APJ. Samantha provided consulting services on privacy regulations and managed the partner ecosystem.

Currently, Samantha is the Lead Privacy Specialist at Woven by Toyota. In this role, they oversee privacy operations on a global scale and excels in areas such as privacy impact assessments, incident response management, and data mapping. Samantha collaborates with cross-functional internal stakeholders at Woven by Toyota to analyze strategic focus areas.

Throughout their career, Samantha has also been actively involved in empowering women employability in the tech industry. Samantha served as a Committee Board Member of the Woman@OneTrust Community, where they spearheaded initiatives to bridge the gender gap and create an inclusive environment for women professionals.

Samantha Kong completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Greenwich. Samantha then pursued a Master of Information Technology Leadership degree with a focus on Data Governance and Information Technology at Deakin University, which they completed in 2021.

Currently, Samantha is pursuing a Doctor of Law (JD) degree at the University of Southern Queensland, specializing in Law.

In terms of certifications, Samantha has obtained various credentials such as Certified PrivacyOps from Securiti, ISO 27701 Lead Auditor and ISO/IEC 27001 Certified Lead Auditor from Exemplar Global Inc., Fellow of Information Privacy from IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals, OneTrust Incident Response Expert, OneTrust Certified Privacy Professional, OneTrust Data Subject Request Expert, Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Certified Information Privacy Professional - CIPP/E from IAPP, Certified GRC Professional from OCEG (Open Compliance & Ethics Group), GRC Solutions Expert, and Vendor Management Expert from OneTrust.
