Sayuri Yapa

Sayuri Yapa has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Sayuri is currently working as a Product Manager at Woven by Toyota, where they are involved in the development of self-driving technology using a machine-learned approach. Prior to this, they worked at Lyft as a Technical Program Manager at Lyft Level 5 Self-Driving Division. Sayuri led cross-functional initiatives for building hardware devices and managed relationships with contract manufacturers. Before joining Lyft, Sayuri worked at BYTON as a Manager, Chassis Digital Dynamics, where they managed multiple suppliers for the delivery of safety-critical mechatronics systems. Sayuri also worked as a Senior Engineer in the same company. Sayuri also has experience working at Lucid Motors as an Engineer, Thermal Systems, where they specialized in the development and optimization of thermal systems for electric vehicles. Sayuri has also worked at Space Systems Loral as a Sr. Research and Development Engineer, at Stanford University as a PhD Candidate conducting research on fluid mechanics and heat transfer, at Raytheon as a Thermal Systems Analyst, and at Clarkson University as a Research Assistant.

Sayuri Yapa completed their education in Mechanical Engineering, with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Clarkson University in 2009. Sayuri then pursued further studies at Stanford University, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2011. Following their master's, they continued their education at Stanford University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2015.
