Vishnu Desaraju

Vishnu Desaraju has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and research. Vishnu currently holds the position of Staff Research Scientist at Woven by Toyota, where they conduct research in an ongoing role. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Woven by Toyota. Vishnu also worked at the Toyota Research Institute as a Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist, focusing on various research projects. Vishnu pursued their Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University as a Ph.D. Student in Robotics, specializing in developing Model Predictive Control strategies. Vishnu also worked as a GNC Engineer at Aurora Flight Sciences, a Graduate Research Assistant at MIT, and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan. Vishnu gained experience in mentoring high school students in the FIRST Robotics competition and held various roles, including Animation Team Mentor at UMentor FIRST Robotics and Publicity Coordinator at Wolverine Soft.

Vishnu Desaraju completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan from 2004 to 2008. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics with a focus on Controls at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2010. Finally, Vishnu attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2012 to 2017, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Robotics.
