William Brodie

William Brodie has a strong background in DevOps and information security. William started their career at GMT Systems as a Senior Systems Engineer from March 2013 to November 2014. William then worked at SYZYGY as a Senior Systems Engineer, where they were responsible for architecting and managing datacenters and cloud infrastructure from November 2014 to February 2017.

Following this, William joined Square Enix in February 2017 as a Senior Systems Administrator and InfoSec Lead, where they worked on delivering high traffic systems and maintaining a strong security posture through automation. William held various roles at Square Enix, including Technical Lead for Cloud Infrastructure and Information Security from December 2018 to April 2020, and Principal DevOps Engineer from April 2020 to October 2020.

Currently, William is working at Woven by Toyota as a Technical Lead and Senior Engineer. William is the Engineering Manager and Product Owner for their Kubernetes platform, leading a Kubernetes engineering team and working on a multi-tenant, multi-cloud, multi-org self-service platform product. Their responsibilities include implementing self-service features, authentication and multi-tenant isolation, cost allocation and reports, and multi-identity provider support.

Throughout their career, William has demonstrated expertise in system engineering, infrastructure management, and information security strategy and implementation.

William Brodie attended The Heritage Private School from 2003 to 2008. During this time, they did not obtain a degree or pursue any specific field of study. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2003, they attended Doha College where they completed their high school education. Apart from their formal education, William has also obtained several certifications. In November 2019, they became a PADI Rescue Diver certified by PADI. In May 2019, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)². Additionally, in August 2011, they obtained the JAA PPL(H) - Private Pilots Licence (Helicopters) from the Civil Aviation Authority.
