Claire Ainsley

Claire Ainsley is an experienced political strategist and advocate currently serving as Senior Adviser at WPI Strategy and the Building Back Britain Commission since June 2023 and as Director of the PPI project on Center-Left Renewal at the Progressive Policy Institute since January 2023. A trustee at Involve since April 2019, Ainsley has also contributed to Birkbeck, University of London as an Advisory Board Member at the Centre for the Study of British Politics and British Political Life from June 2018. Ainsley previously held the position of Executive Director of Policy for The Labour Party from April 2020 to December 2022, and served as Executive Director of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation from December 2017 to April 2020. With earlier roles including Director of Communications and External Affairs at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Campaigns and Media Co-ordinator at Unite the Union, Ainsley has a solid background in political communication and organizational leadership. Ainsley holds an MSc in Global Politics from Birkbeck, University of London, as well as a BA in Politics from the University of York.
