Matthew Schaefer

Matthew Schaefer has a diverse work experience in the field of meteorology. Matthew has worked as a Chief Meteorologist at WQOW-News 18 since June 2016. Prior to this, they were a Weekend Meteorologist/Weekday Reporter at WXOW News 19 from September 2014 to June 2016. Matthew also served as a Weather Center Tutor at Valparaiso University from August 2013 to May 2014. Matthew has further experience as a Weather Director, Assistant Weather Director, and Cold Front Co-Producer at Valparaiso University Television (VUTV) from September 2010 to April 2014. Matthew had internships at WGN-TV as a Weather Intern from August 2013 to December 2013 and ABC 12 WISN as a Meteorology Intern from June 2013 to August 2013, where they worked closely with Chief Meteorologist Mark Baden and the rest of the weather team. Additionally, Matthew served as a Lab Assistant at Valparaiso University's Meteorology Department from August 2011 to May 2013.

Matthew Schaefer attended Valparaiso University from 2010 to 2014, pursuing a degree in Meteorology with a focus on Digital Media.
