Chief Terry Nichols (Ret.) has a comprehensive work experience in law enforcement and public safety. Their most recent role was as the Director of Business Development and Grant Management at WRAP, where they focused on innovative training and tools to enhance public safety without the use of force. Prior to that, Chief Nichols served as the Chief of Police for the City of Seguin, where they implemented inclusive servant leadership and successfully led the department through the re-accreditation process. Chief Terry also served as the Chief of Police for the City of Brownwood, Texas, overseeing the operations of the municipal police agency and serving as the primary Public Information Officer.

Chief Nichols has played a significant role in training and curriculum development in law enforcement. At Texas State University-ALERRT, they served as the Director of Curriculum Development, managing the development and standardization of training curriculum for law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel. Additionally, Chief Nichols served as a SWAT Team Operator and Commander for the Hays County SWAT Team, handling critical incidents and serving on the board of the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association.
