Robert Best has a diverse and extensive work experience in the engineering field. Robert started their career in 2005 as a Condition Monitoring and Overhaul Planning Engineer at AES KILROOT POWER LIMITED. In 2009, they moved to Queen's University Belfast as a Powertrain Research Engineer. In 2012, they joined Salamander Amphibious Vehicles as an Engineering Manager. From 2013 onwards, they worked at Wrightbus in various roles including Powertrain Engineer, Lead Design Engineer, Engineering Manager - Research (W-Tech) and Advanced Engineering, Head of Engineering, and currently holds the position of Director of Engineering.
Robert Best attended Belfast Royal Academy from 1996 to 2003. Robert then pursued their undergraduate degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Queen's University Belfast from 2003 to 2008. After completing their undergraduate studies, Robert continued their education at Queen's University Belfast, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Drive Cycle Modelling from 2008 to 2012.
