Pat Simons is a seasoned freelance writer and nonprofit leader with extensive experience in both legal and educational sectors. As a freelance writer since April 2009, Simons co-authored the illustrated gift book *Goldilox and the Whole Mishpokhe: Limericks with a Shmear of Yiddish* with Amy Glaser Gage. Prior to this, Simons founded Ready Readers in 1997, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering reading among low-income preschool children, serving over 8,000 children weekly by providing regular read-aloud sessions and distributing high-quality books. Additionally, Simons practiced law from 1974 to 1998 in general civil practice at various law firms. Educational qualifications include a J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law, a Master of Arts in English Literature from Washington University, and a Bachelor's degree in English and French from the University of Texas at Austin.
