Kathryn Peterson

Writer In Residence at Writers in the Schools

Kathryn Peterson is an experienced educator and writer with a strong background in creative writing, coaching, and academia. Currently serving as a Writer in Residence at Writers in the Schools since June 2015, Kathryn teaches creative writing to K-12 students, emphasizing the joy of writing and self-expression. As a Dissertation and Thesis Coach at The Dissertation Coach since August 2011, Kathryn supports students in navigating their long-term projects, with a focus on the social sciences and humanities. Kathryn has also contributed as a columnist for the Houston Chronicle and held positions that involve coaching students in managing their writing endeavors and overcoming challenges. With a PhD in Creative Writing and Literature from the University of Houston, along with multiple advanced degrees, Kathryn has a strong foundation in both writing and teaching, which has facilitated success among students at various educational levels.
