Richard Gompels

Richard Gompels has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the technology and finance sectors.

Starting in 2012, Gompels served as the CIO for Fleet Innovations Ltd, where they oversaw IT operations for the company's mileage capture solution and other vehicle and logistics tools and platforms. Richard held this position until 2022.

In addition to their role at Fleet Innovations, Gompels founded BrambleHatch in 2012, a marketing technology incubator. Here, they focused on developing a social-media driven content management platform and provided freelance consulting services in marketing technology trends and online product placement.

From 2013 to 2016, Gompels served as the Global CIO for Stemcor, a global steel company. In this capacity, they were responsible for all aspects of the company's technology team, programs, and platforms.

Gompels also held leadership positions at other companies, including Foreign Currency Direct plc, where they served as the CTOO from 2019 to 2021. At Fiserv, Gompels was the VP of Agiliti Delivery from 2016 to 2019, leading all aspects of the Agiliti platform for retail banking.

Prior to their roles at Stemcor and Fiserv, Gompels served as the CTO at Advanced Payment Solutions from 2013 to 2016, where they spearheaded the transformation of the company's technology architecture to support growth and introduce new products.

Gompels also has experience in the financial technology consulting sector. Richard worked at Delta Capita from 2021 to 2022 as the CIO, leading the structured products technology and change teams. Richard also held the role of Managing Director, EMEA at Computer Management Group, Inc. from 2013 to 2015.

Most recently, Gompels joined WSD in 2022 as the Chief Information Officer, where they lead the technology and delivery teams for the company's straight-through process automation services.

Richard Gompels attended the University of St Andrews from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Studies. Prior to their university education, Richard Gompels attended City of London Freemen's School; however, no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this period.
