William Owens

William Owens joined the WSPA team in March 2022, and currently serves as Coordinator, Strategic Communications. William will be vital in telling the stories of the men and women who work in gas oil and gas industry, providing energy to thousands of people residing across five states.

Before WSPA, William served as a television broadcast journalist for an ABC affiliate, WAPT news in Jackson, Miss, for five years. William has reported on national stories such as: the coronavirus pandemic, a water crisis in the capitol city of Mississippi, and the 2020 presidential election. William served as a photographer, reporter and producer.

William earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Jackson State University. He also coached a championship-winning city-league basketball team for grade school boys.
