Dr. Alina Wetzchewald

Dr. Alina Wetzchewald has extensive experience in research and academia, currently serving as a researcher at Wuppertal Institut für Klima, Umwelt, Energie gGmbH in the Energy, Transport, and Climate Policy Department since November 2017. Previously, Dr. Wetzchewald worked as a research associate and doctoral student at Bergische Universität Wuppertal, focusing on environmentally sustainable infrastructure planning and urban engineering from April 2018 to April 2022. Other roles include a working student position with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in 2017, various research assistant and student roles at Wuppertal Institut, and an internship in Thailand with GIZ. Dr. Wetzchewald's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Transport Economics, a Master's degree in Transport Economics, and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from Bergische Universität Wuppertal, along with a study abroad program at UNSW.
