Dr. Julia Terrapon-Pfaff

Co-head Research Unit International Energy Transitions at Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy

Dr. Julia Terrapon-Pfaff has extensive work experience in the field of climate, environment, energy, and research. Dr. Julia began their career as a Research Assistant at McKinsey & Company in April 2008 and worked there until March 2009. In January 2010, they joined the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy as a Consultant and later transitioned to the role of Researcher in September 2013. From July 2018 to December 2020, Dr. Terrapon-Pfaff served as a Senior Researcher at the institute. Currently, they are actively involved as the Co-Head of the Research Unit International Energy Transitions.

Dr. Julia Terrapon-Pfaff obtained their academic degrees from Universität Trier. Dr. Julia completed their Diplom in Spatial and Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, and Public Law from 2002 to 2008. In 2009, they pursued a Doktor (Ph.D.) degree in Raum- und Umweltwissenschaften, which they successfully completed in 2014. During their academic journey, Dr. Terrapon-Pfaff also had the opportunity to be a Visiting Researcher at the University of Liège in 2013. Dr. Julia also participated in an Auslandssemester (semester abroad) at Universidad de Salamanca in 2007.
