Melissa McDonnell

Product Director, Commercial Testing at WuXi Advanced Therapies

Melissa McDonnell has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple companies and roles. Melissa started their career at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics in 2003 as an Operations/Manufacturing Co-op. Melissa then worked at Marshall & Stevens as an intern in 2004. In 2005, they joined Ethicon Endo-Surgery as an External Operations Co-op.

After that, Melissa worked at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics again as a Quality Engineer from 2006 to 2007. Melissa then moved to Johnson & Johnson, where they held positions as a Device Technology Engineer and Facilities Engineer from 2007 to 2008.

In 2008, Melissa rejoined Ortho Clinical Diagnostics as an Engineer until 2010. Melissa then worked at Becton Dickinson as a Project Engineering Consultant for the Research & Development Team from 2010 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2013, Melissa worked at Stryker as an Engineering Consultant for the New Product Launch Team. Melissa then moved to WuXi AppTec and held roles as a Senior Project Manager, Associate Director of Project Management, and Associate Director of Clinical Cell Therapy Program Management from 2011 to 2018.

Since 2018, Melissa has been working at WuXi Advanced Therapies. Melissa started as an Associate Director of Continuous Improvement and then transitioned to roles such as Associate Product Director of Commercial and Standard Testing and currently holds the position of Product Director of Commercial Testing.

Melissa's work experience showcases their expertise in various fields such as project management, engineering, and operations.

Melissa McDonnell completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering with a minor in Mathematics from Penn State University between 2001 and 2006. Following that, they pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Systems Engineering from Penn State University, which they obtained from 2009 to 2011.

In terms of additional certifications, Melissa obtained various certifications in healthcare and management. Melissa completed the Health Care Innovation, The Business of Health Care Specialization, Management Fundamentals, The Economics of Health Care Delivery, and Financial Acumen for Non-Financial Managers programs from the University of Pennsylvania in December 2018. Melissa also achieved the Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the Executive Education at Rutgers School of Business-Camden in June 2020. In addition, Melissa earned their Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Johnson & Johnson in May 2013. Finally, they obtained the United Way Mentor Training Certificate from the United Way, although the specific date of completion is not provided.
