Weimin Valenti

Weimin Valenti has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Weimin is currently serving as the Executive Director and Global Head of Strategic Alliances and Licensing at WuXi Advanced Therapies since October 2021. Before assuming this role, Weimin held the position of Senior Director and Head of Licensing and M&A at the same company from March 2020 to September 2021.

Prior to joining WuXi Advanced Therapies, Weimin worked at the University of Rochester - UR Ventures as a Senior Licensing Manager from October 2011 to March 2020. Weimin also worked as a Technology Commercialization Liaison at Cornell University, Cornell Center for Technology Enterprise and Commercialization from June 2010 to October 2011.

Weimin gained valuable research experience during their early career, starting as a Ph.D. Candidate at Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine and Freie Universität Berlin from September 2001 to November 2005. Weimin then served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Chicago from December 2005 to June 2007 and later at the University of Rochester Medical Center from September 2007 to May 2010.

Throughout their career, Weimin has demonstrated expertise in strategic alliances, licensing, and technology commercialization.

Weimin Valenti pursued their education at the University of Rochester - Simon Business School from 2012 to 2015, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship. Prior to that, they attended Freie Universität Berlin from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Ph.D. in Biology.
