Ying Li M.D.

Ying Li, MD, PhD, currently serves as the Director of In Vivo Pharmacology for Metabolic and Renal Diseases at WuXi AppTec since August 2023. Prior to this role, Ying Li held positions as Principal Research Scientist and Study Director at Charles River Laboratories from June 2021 to July 2023. As a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC San Diego from 2015 to 2021, research focused on renal energy metabolism in sepsis-associated acute kidney injury and mitochondrial dysfunction. Ying Li's early career includes work as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Iowa from 2008 to 2014, studying the effects of SOCS3 on vascular dysfunction, and as a Research Assistant at Nitto Denko Technical Corporation in 2007-2008, conducting toxicology studies on an anti-cancer drug. Ying Li holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Iowa and an MD from Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China.
