Jacob McFerren, U.S. Army Colonel (Retired) is a Senior Advisor and Department of Defense Subject Matter Expert on International Affairs. He advises on strategies involving national security, foreign policy and leadership.
Prior to WWC Global, Jacob served over 30 years as a commissioned infantry officer in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Colonel. He has significant experience in joint and combined military and civil operations, having participated in nine U.S. and NATO operations both in combat and peacekeeping/peacemaking roles.
Jacob served overseas in Naples, Italy for fourteen years, as the senior advisor to nine four-star admirals and generals. During this time, he served two tours in Baghdad, Iraq as the Chief of Staff, NATO Training Mission Iraq and a tour as the Political Advisor to the Commander, International Security Assistance Force in Kabul, Afghanistan. Jake has over a decade of extensive experience both in uniform and out in security sector reform and theater support, cooperation operations in the Balkans, and has deployed to the Caucuses and several times to Central America.
His academic accomplishments include a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy and a master’s degree from the University of Virginia. He is an Honor Graduate of the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College and School of Advanced Warfighting.
