Leonie Valentine is an experienced conservation professional currently serving as the Senior Manager of Species Conservation and Acting Head of Regenerative Country at WWF-Australia since September 2021. Valentina has been an Adjunct Research Fellow and Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia since August 2012. Previous positions include Postdoctoral Researcher at Murdoch University from February 2010 to July 2012 and Ecologist at the WA Department of Environment and Conservation from June 2008 to February 2010. Leonie holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Conservation Biology, a Diploma of Research Methods in Wildlife Biology, and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology, all obtained from James Cook University.
