Daniel J. St-Cyr

Senior Research Scientist at X-Chem

Daniel J. St-Cyr has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Daniel J. started their career in 2001 as a Medicinal Chemist at Merck and worked there for one year. In 2008, they joined the Université de Montréal as a Postdoctoral Fellow under the guidance of William D. Lubell. After completing their fellowship in 2012, they moved to the Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie (IRIC) where they served as a Research Officer. During their time at IRIC, they worked as a Resident Medicinal and Bioorganic Chemist in the Mike Tyers Research Group. Daniel J. also held the position of CIHR Postdoctoral Fellow from 2012 to 2016. In 2021, Daniel joined X-Chem, Inc. as a Senior Research Scientist, where they currently hold the role.

Daniel J. St-Cyr pursued their education with a focus on chemistry. From 1996 to 1998, they attended Mount Royal University, completing a science transfer program. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Alberta from 1998 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry. Continuing their academic journey, St-Cyr attended McGill University from 2002 to 2008, where they successfully completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Organic Chemistry.
