Shawn Johnstone PhD

Shawn Johnstone PhD has extensive work experience in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry. Shawn most recently held the position of Executive Director Of Chemistry at X-Chem, Inc. starting in April 2022. Prior to that, they worked as both Director of Chemistry and Associate Director at IntelliSyn Pharma, with their tenure spanning from 2012 to the present. Shawn also has a notable career at AstraZeneca, where they worked in Drug Discovery and Medicinal Chemistry from 2000 to 2010.

Shawn Johnstone, PhD, has an extensive education history in the field of chemistry and biology. Shawn obtained their Bachelor of Science degree (HBSc) in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Guelph from 1990 to 1993. Following this, they pursued their Master of Science degree (MSc) in Chemistry at the University of Toronto from 1994 to 1996. Lastly, Shawn completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Synthetic Chemistry at the Université de Montréal from 1996 to 2000.

In addition to their academic achievements, Shawn Johnstone has also obtained the certification of being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry from the Royal Society of Chemistry in September 2021.
