Ian Strachan

Ian Strachan has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and technical roles. Ian currently works as a Principal Engineer at X-Lab since July 2022. Prior to that, they held the same role at FanDuel from January 2021 to June 2022, leading teams in building customer-facing applications using Java Spring and React.

From 2013 to 2020, Ian worked as a Technical Architect at ResDiary, a restaurant reservation and management system. Ian had overall technical ownership of the platform and led development teams in implementing new features using C#, ASP.NET MVC, and React.

Before joining ResDiary, Ian served as a Senior Software Consultant at CC Technology Ltd from 2008 to 2013. Ian worked on the development of CC Grant Tracker, a grant management system built in C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and Javascript.

From 2006 to 2008, Ian worked as an Implementation Consultant at Visionware: A Civica Group Company, where they were involved in scoping, developing, installing, and maintaining implementations of MDM/CDI software.

Ian has also gained experience as a Development Engineer at SAIC, where they enhanced and supported Scottish Enterprise internet and intranet sites using ASP.NET and Livelink Content Management System. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Bridges2Solutions and a Software Development Engineer at Agilent Technologies.

Ian Strachan attended the University of Glasgow from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
