Software Engineer at X, the moonshot factory

Carl Turner has a strong and diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and product development. Carl started their career in 1996 as a Software Engineer at Turner Tech Inc., where they provided professional consulting services for software and firmware projects.

From 2002 to 2004, they worked as the Director of Software Development at Envenergy Inc., focusing on DNP3 protocol, building automation, and electronics.

In 2011, Carl founded Avatar EEG Solutions Inc and served as the CEO. Carl successfully developed and brought to market the first Bluetooth-enabled electroencephalography (EEG) system before the company had a successful exit to Electrical Geodesics Inc. (EGI). This role highlighted their expertise in wearables and entrepreneurship.

At EGI, from 2013 to 2015, Carl held the position of Director of Product Development, where they worked on projects related to EEG and electrical neuromodulation. Carl had experience with standards such as ISO13485, IEC60601, and IEC62304.

In 2015, they joined NemaMetrix, Inc as the Director of Engineering. As a part of the leadership team, they played a crucial role in the company's growth from 5 to 45 employees. Their work involved model organisms and phenotyping.

Starting from 2018, Carl worked as a Software Engineer at Syllable. Their responsibilities included firmware development, electronics prototyping, and AI-related projects.

Currently, Carl is employed at X, the moonshot factory as a Software Engineer, where they collaborate with talented individuals and works on innovative projects.

Carl Turner attended the University of Calgary from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
