Engineering And Technical Lead, Wireless Optical Communication at X, the moonshot factory

Devin Brinkley has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. From 2003 to 2014, they worked at Cubic as a Principle System & Electrical Engineer. During this time, they successfully completed the DARPA One-Shot program as a project engineer and also served as a technical lead on various projects, including designing a shock hardened laser rifle mounted measurement system. Devin was also responsible for managing project budgets and monitoring the program's progress using earned value management.

In 2014, Devin joined Google as a Hardware Lead and Electro-Optical Engineer, where they stayed until 2015. Devin then transitioned to X, the moonshot factory, where they took on the role of Hardware Lead and Electro-Optical Engineer. In this role, they were involved in Project Taara, aiming to expand global access to fast and affordable internet through wireless optical communication. Devin recently took on the additional responsibility of Engineering and Technical Lead for Project Taara.

Devin Brinkley earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. This education took place between 1998 and 2003. Following this, Devin pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in the same field at San Diego State University. This degree was completed between 2005 and 2007.
