Ellie Joo

Ellie Joo's work experience began in 2015 when they worked as a Regulatory Policy Intern at the Center for Effective Government. In this role, they conducted research and policy analyses, developed new policy ideas, and encouraged citizen participation and government accountability.

In 2015, Ellie also worked as an Assistant to Program and Medical Directors at UCLA Health's Hyperbaric Medicine department. Here, they specialized in the management of complex wounds and other medical conditions, operating a multi-place chamber that provided care to both outpatients and inpatients.

In 2016, Ellie joined X, the moonshot factory (formerly Google X), as an Analyst for the Partnerships team. Ellie worked in this role until September 2017.

Following their time as an Analyst, Ellie became a Program Manager for Taara at X in October 2018. Ellie contributed to the development and launch of technologies aimed at making significant improvements to people's lives on a global scale.

Overall, Ellie Joo has gained extensive experience in policy analysis, healthcare management, and project management in various organizations.

Ellie Joo has a strong educational background in the field of public health and spatial analysis. Ellie obtained a Master of Applied Science degree in Spatial Analysis for Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, completing their studies from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from UCLA, graduating between the years 2011 and 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Ellie Joo has also obtained several certifications. Ellie is Advanced QGIS certified by Spatial Thoughts, which they achieved in May 2021. Ellie also completed an End-to-End Google Earth Engine certification from the same institution, obtained in April 2021. Furthermore, Ellie Joo is certified in Production and Inventory Management by APICS, which they acquired in July 2018.
