Ian Williamson

Ian Williamson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Ian is currently a Staff Software Engineer at X, the moonshot factory, where they have been working since October 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Software Engineer from April 2021 to October 2022 and as a Software Engineer from March 2020 to April 2021 at the same company.

Before joining X, the moonshot factory, Ian was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanford University from December 2017 to February 2020. Ian also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Texas at Austin from September 2017 to November 2017. During their time at The University of Texas at Austin, Ian also held positions as a Graduate Research Assistant from August 2011 to August 2017 and as a Teaching Assistant from August 2015 to December 2015.

Ian's earlier work experience includes a role as an Application Engineer at Graftek Imaging from February 2011 to July 2011. Ian also held various positions at College Houses, including Board Member from June 2010 to August 2010 and Director of Pearl Street Coop from January 2010 to May 2010.

In addition, Ian gained experience as a Hardware Engineering Intern at ClearCube Technology in 2009 and as a Student Intern at Applied Research Laboratories, The University of Texas at Austin in 2008. Ian also had an internship as an Extreme Blue Intern at IBM in 2007.

Ian Williamson earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, completing their undergraduate studies from 2006 to 2010. Ian then pursued further education, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution from 2011 to 2014. Ian continued their academic journey at The University of Texas at Austin, where they completed their PhD in Electrical Engineering from 2011 to 2017.
