Pinar Karaca-Mandic has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Pinar is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of XanthosHealth since September 2020. In addition, they are the Founding Director of the Business Advancement Center for Health (BACH) since January 2021.
Prior to these positions, Pinar held various roles at the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management. Pinar started as an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance in August 2017 and later became a Professor in the same department in July 2020.
Pinar has also worked as a Research Associate in Health Economics & Health Care Programs at the National Bureau of Economic Research since September 2014. Pinar served as the Academic Director at the Medical Industry Leadership Institute from October 2017 to December 2021.
Pinar has also worked at Precision Health Economics as a Scientific Advisor from February 2017 to August 2019 and as an Independent Consultant at Tactile Medical from January 2014 to April 2018. Pinar was an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health from July 2014 to August 2017.
Pinar started their career as an Associate Economist at RAND Corporation from September 2004 to September 2007.
Pinar Karaca-Mandic holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, which they obtained from 1998 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics with a concentration in Public Policy from Swarthmore College from 1994 to 1998.
