Geoffrey De Oliveira

Scientist - Upstream at Xap Therapeutics

Geoffrey De Oliveira has a diverse work experience in the field of biopharmaceutical development and protein services. Geoffrey started their career in 2012 as a Commercial Employee DRIVE Service at E.Leclerc. In 2014, they interned at the CNRS, where they worked on the expression, purification, and characterization of Mitofusin 2 protein in Pichia pastoris. Geoffrey then took on a part-time role as a Service Pole Employee at Darty Bordeaux-Lac.

In 2015, Geoffrey joined GSK as an Industrial Placement Student, where they worked on the development of a high-throughput antibody variable gene sequencing approach. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Scientist at Lonza's Applied Protein Services department, focusing on technology development activities using mammalian and microbial hosts for small-scale expression, purification, and characterization of antibodies and recombinant proteins.

Geoffrey then joined Kymab Ltd in 2018 and held various roles within the Biopharmaceutical Development Group. These roles included Senior Research Associate within the CHO Expression Team, where they supplied biopharmaceutical material to support in vitro/in vivo screening activities and contributed to the development and optimization of expression platforms. Geoffrey also had a 9-month secondment in the Cell Culture Development team, where they worked on supply development and process development activities.

Most recently, Geoffrey joined Xap Therapeutics in 2022 as a Scientist.

Geoffrey De Oliveira's education history begins in 2008 when they started attending Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne. Geoffrey studied medicine there until 2010. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Earth, and Environment from the same university from 2010 to 2013.

In 2013, Geoffrey enrolled in ENSTBB Bordeaux INP to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biotechnology, which they completed in 2016. In May 2015, they obtained a certification in IELTS from the British Council.
