Joey Garcia

Joey Garcia has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Joey is currently serving as the Director and Head of Public Affairs, Policy, and Regulatory Affairs at Xapo Bank since June 2022. Prior to that, Joey worked as a Consultant and Partner at ISOLAS LLP from 2017 to 2022. Joey also worked as a Consultant at the United Nations in 2021. In 2019, Joey served as a Non-Executive Director at IOV Labs, a company focused on building secure platforms for the global economy. Joey is also a Founding Member of thinkBLOCKtank since 2018. Earlier in their career, Joey worked as an Advisor at Fiduciary Management Limited from 2004 to 2016, and as the Chairman of the Gibraltar Funds & Investments Association from 2014 to 2016. Joey started their career as a Marketing Assistant at Polo Ralph Lauren in 1998.

Joey Garcia attended BPP Law School from 2002 to 2003, where they obtained a PGDL degree in Law. Joey then continued their education at BPP Law School from 2003 to 2004, earning a BVC degree in Law. Prior to this, Joey Garcia completed a BA Joint Honours degree in Philosophy from the University of Bristol from 1999 to 2002. Lastly, they attended Stonyhurst from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their academic qualifications, Garcia received the certification of being ranked Lawyer in the Global Wide Fintech guide, Blockchain&Cryptocurrency from Chambers and Partners in 2017.
