Tomas Hazleton is the current Chief Compliance Officer at Xapo. Prior to this, they served as Interim Chief Compliance Officer & MLRO at Xapo from November 2020 to July 2021. In this role, they stabilized, restructured and enhanced Compliance/AFC arrangements and team after CCO/MLRO’s departure. Tomas also registered as a Regulated Individual (RI) with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission and managed Compliance & AFC teams while launching new Banking and Bitcoin VASP services from Gibraltar. Tomas recruited 4 Senior Leaders: Regulatory Compliance, Compliance Monitoring, MLRO & Head of AFC Operations.

From June 2019 to September 2020, Tomas served as UK Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and MLRO at N26. In this role, they built N26’s UK Branch then supported UK wind-down following Brexit. UK accounts closed April 2020. Tomas also remediated N26’s global anti-financial crime arrangements following concerns from German & UK regulators.

Prior to their time at N26, Tomas served as Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, MLRO & Data Protection Officer at Allica from February 2018 to January 2019.

Tomas Hazleton has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Economics and Spanish from Rutgers University.
