Dr. Håkan Yildirim

Head of Intellectual Property at Xbrane Biopharma AB

Dr. Håkan Yildirim has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Head of Intellectual Property at Xbrane Biopharma AB since January 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Guest Lecturer at Stockholms universitet starting in November 2013.

Dr. Yildirim also worked as a European Patent Attorney at Tobii AB from September 2018 to January 2020. Dr. Håkan has previously held positions as a Patent Attorney at Bergenstråhle & Partners from August 2016 to September 2018, as well as at IPQ IP Specialists AB from October 2014 to August 2016.

Before working in patent law, Dr. Yildirim gained substantial experience as a Patent Examiner at The Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV) from May 2007 to August 2012. During their time at PRV, they specialized in pharmaceutical chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and various other fields. Dr. Håkan also took on key account management and sales roles for the consultancy services provided by PRV, involving international business-to-business sales and marketing activities.

Dr. Yildirim's earlier experience includes a position as the Head of the Science Department at Internationella Engelska Skolan from January 2006 to May 2007. Before that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Karolinska Institutet from July 2000 to December 2005, focusing on vaccine research and cross-disciplinary science. Dr. Håkan also worked as a Teacher at Södertörn University from July 2000 to October 2005, where they taught chemistry and supervised undergraduate and PhD students.

Dr. Håkan Yildirim's education history begins in 1988 when they attended Kungsholmens Gymnasium, where they earned an International Baccalaureate degree in High School/Gymnasium. From 1992 to 1994, they pursued a University Certificate (UC) in Biomedical Science at Hälsohögskolan i Stockholm, specializing in Clinical Chemistry.

In 1995, Dr. Yildirim enrolled at Stockholm University, where they completed a five-year Master of Science (MSc) program in the fields of Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Science. Following this, from 2000 to 2005, they attended Karolinska Institutet, earning a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences with a focus on Bioanalysis.

To further their knowledge in Intellectual Property Law, Dr. Yildirim pursued additional education. In 2012 and 2013, they completed a program at Lund University, specializing in Intellectual Property Law. From 2015 to 2017, they also participated in a course on Intellectual Property Law at DeltaPatents. Moreover, in 2021 and 2022, they studied an Industrial Property course focused on Patents at Politecnico di Milano.

Additionally, Dr. Yildirim supplemented their education with studies in Pedagogy at Blekinge Institute of Technology in 2006.
