Christopher R. Church

Christopher R. Church is an experienced leader in the nuclear energy sector, currently serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer at Xcel Energy since January 2017, where responsibilities include establishing nuclear fleet performance standards and overseeing organizational effectiveness. Prior roles at TVA included Vice President of Operations Support and Site Vice President positions where crucial operational enhancements and performance improvements were achieved, particularly in fleet governance and dual unit transitions. With a foundational background in nuclear operations from Progress Energy, combined with early leadership roles in the US Navy as a Nuclear Engineering Officer, Christopher holds an M.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and a B.S. in Marine Engineering Systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
