Agatha Chen

Agatha Chen has over 7 years of experience in the life sciences industry. In 2017, they became the Director of Operations at Xcell Biosciences, a San Francisco-based life science start-up company that is developing novel and disruptive systems for cell therapy development and production. Agatha also served as the Director of Product Development and Support. Prior to this, from 2014 to 2017, they were a Senior Consultant at C1 Consulting, where they conducted market strategy analysis, including branding and positioning, competitive intelligence, forecasting and segmentation research for a boutique life sciences consulting firm. Agatha also led over 20 strategic consulting and market research projects for pharmaceutical and biotech clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, they designed quantitative and qualitative research tools, managed a team of 2-4 analysts, coordinated with external contractors and vendors, and lead internal company initiatives to improve recruitment and train new hires on scientific literature review.

Agatha Chen completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Sun Yat-sen University from 2003 to 2007. Agatha then went on to pursue a PhD in Chemistry and Biomolecules from Harvard University from 2008 to 2014, with a field of study in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
