Mark Shapiro has a diverse work experience with expertise in management consulting and operational leadership in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Mark Shapiro started their education in 1992 at Virginia Tech, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 1996. Mark then pursued further education at Boston University School of Medicine, earning a Master's degree in Pharmacology from 1996 to 1999. Following this, from 1999 to 2000, Mark worked towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomolecular Pharmacology at Boston University School of Medicine.

In 2005, Mark Shapiro attended Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with concentrations in Marketing and Finance in 2006.
