Carla Catharino

Carla Catharino has extensive experience in various legal roles. Carla currently works as the Legal Director at Xeneta since 2023 after serving as the Senior Legal Counsel since 2022. Before that, Carla worked as an Independent Consultant from 2016 to 2023, providing legal advice and expertise in contracts, corporate law, corporate governance, and intellectual property. Carla also had a role as a Partner at SuM Law from 2017 to 2019, specializing in M&A, antitrust, and corporate affairs. Prior to that, Carla held positions as the Legal Coordinator at BRF in 2014 and as the Senior Legal Counsel at Raízen from 2012 to 2014. Carla also worked as a Legal Counsel at AES Brasil from 2010 to 2012 and at Cielo from 2008 to 2010, where they provided legal counsel in corporate law and corporate governance matters. Carla began their career as a Legal Counsel at GP Investments from 2004 to 2008 and at São Carlos Empreendimentos from 2004 to 2008, focusing on corporate law, capital markets, IPOs, and international structures and reorganizations. Overall, Carla brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in various legal areas to their current role as the Legal Director at Xeneta.

Carla Catharino completed their LLM degree in Financial and Capital Markets Law at Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa from 2009 to 2010. Carla also obtained the certification of Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in 2023. Additionally, they have a certification as a Qualified Lawyer from the Brazilian BAR Association, the OAB - Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil in 2006. Carla Catharino has also acquired additional certifications including S23 MOOC - Social Media and the Law from the Law Society of Ireland and Data Privacy and Technology from Harvard Online, both obtained in 2023.
