Michael Boyd

Michael Boyd is an accomplished chemist with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as Chemistry Lead (Senior Principal Scientist 2/Senior Director) at Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc. since April 2022, and previously as Chemistry Lead (Senior Principal Scientist/Director) at the same company, Michael has a strong background in designing and synthesizing novel chemical entities with therapeutic potential. Prior roles include Research Fellow/Director and Sr. Research Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from August 2018 to April 2022 and from November 2010 to May 2018, respectively. Michael's career began at Merck, where roles included Research Chemist and Staff Chemist from August 1999 to October 2010. Michael holds an MSc in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and a BSc in Chemistry from Concordia University, along with a DEC in Sciences Pures et Appliquées from Collège de Maisonneuve.
