Paul Bichler

Paul Bichler is an accomplished professional in the field of medicinal chemistry and project management, currently serving as Associate Director of Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) at Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc. since January 2013. Bichler has successfully led vendor selection and managed contract research organizations (CROs) to support the manufacture of drug substances for clinical and non-clinical activities, achieving key regulatory milestones and optimizing manufacturing processes. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Project Manager and Project Manager at Xenon, where significant contributions were made to the production of drug substances for clinical trials, including XEN801, XEN901, and XEN1101, as well as coordination of pre-clinical drug discovery efforts. Earlier roles include Research Scientist at Pacific Synthetic, where rimantadine analogues were designed, and Organic Chemistry Instructor at Prep 101. Bichler holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Psychology from the University of Alberta.
